Our Fall Favorites

At McConnell Marketing, fall means time to design new websites, draft holiday cards and plan our annual client appreciation gift. But, it also means time for pumpkin picking with family, drinking hot apple cider and watching a classic scary movie. Today, we took a (brief) break from our desks to share with you some of our favorite fall things!

Local Fall Festivities

With our office in northeast Ohio, we’re no stranger to the leaves changing and temps dropping (fast) around October. But before the snow storms arrive, we visit some of our favorite local fall spots. Most years, you’ll find Katie running the local Peace Race with her friends and Jenna at Maze Craze in New Springfield. Allie likes to spend time with her family at Iron Mills Farm and Megan can be found biking through Mill Creek Park. But no matter our favorites, we all agree that it isn’t fall without a donut and pumpkin from White House Fruit Farms!

Fall Travel

During fall, our travel bucket lists continue to grow (perfect temps & beautiful views = traveler nirvana). On Madison’s list? Crater Lake in Oregon. It has breathtaking views and ample opportunities for camping. For Steve, New England’s colorful foliage takes the cake. And at the top of Megan’s fall destinations lies Germany- Oktoberfest, ja?

Pumpkin Spice & Everything Nice

Although we might have coffee in hand most mornings…and afternoons, we sometimes stray from our caffeinated cups to enjoy a few holiday drinks & treats. Here’s what we’re sipping/eating:

Megan – apple cider
Steve – harvest season craft beer
Katie – butternut squash soup
Jenna – homemade apple dumplings (get the recipe)
Alexa – hot caramel spice from S-Bucks
Madison – pumpkin spice latte from Branch Street Coffee Roasters
Allie – white chocolate peppermint mochas

Marketers by Day, Movie Critics by Night

Shows and movies are always a hot topic in the office, especially during the fall. So as amateur film critics, we felt it our due diligence to share some of our favorite Halloween movies. For a mild classic, Megan recommends It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. Allie suggests taking a trip down Disney Channel Original Movie memory lane with Hocus Pocus. And if you’re brave, Steve, Alexa and Madison recommended Poltergeist, The Conjuring and Orphan.

Would you Rather

Eat 10 bags of candy corn or carve 20 pumpkins? The McConnell Marketing team won’t be entering an eating contest any time soon. We all would rather carve 20 pumpkins. Or in Katie’s case- carve, paint AND glitter pumpkins!
