A Step in the Right Direction (SRD), a grassroots nonprofit based on the West Side of Columbus, had been steadily growing since its founding in 2019. After working with one of McConnell Marketing’s team members for several years, SRD’s founder had built a trusted relationship that paved the way for a major next step, establishing a consistent brand identity to help the organization expand its impact.
SRD needed a unified, professional look to support its community events and signature Hygiene Free Store program, which provides essential hygiene products to individuals and families in need. The challenge was creating materials that captured SRD’s caring, community-first spirit while elevating its presentation to attract new donors, volunteers, and partners.

The team began by developing a comprehensive brand guide to ensure consistent use of colors, fonts, and messaging across all platforms.
