The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua is known for its breathtaking setting, world-class service, and immersive guest experiences. Every touchpoint, whether a menu, a spa tag, or in-room material, needed to match the property’s level of refinement. The challenge was to create elevated, custom-designed materials that not only aligned with the Ritz-Carlton brand but also captured the distinct sense of place and beauty unique to Kapalua. Each piece had to feel luxurious, thoughtful, and seamlessly integrated into the guest experience while maintaining functional durability for daily use.

Solution

McConnell Marketing partnered closely with The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua team to design and produce a wide range of guest-facing materials, from pool and restaurant menus to bath hangers, spa tags, and bottle tags. Every detail, from texture to typography, was selected to harmonize with the resort’s elevated atmosphere and its connection to the surrounding landscape. Our process included not just design, but sourcing premium materials and coordinating production to ensure every item met the highest standards.

Custom Guest Touchpoints

We created a suite of branded guest touchpoints, including spa tags, bath hangers, and water bottle neck ties, that seamlessly combine function with luxury. Designed with the same elevated finishes as the guest rooms, each piece communicates essential information in a discreet and refined way. From encouraging sustainability with refillable water bottles to delivering spa details gracefully, these touchpoints enhance the guest journey while reinforcing the resort’s commitment to thoughtful, memorable experiences.

Resort Menu Design

Menus across the resort’s dining venues and events, including ‘Ālala Lounge, Banyan Tree, private dining, overnight offerings, and seasonal celebrations, were designed to embody the unique character of each experience while remaining aligned with the Ritz-Carlton brand. Clean layouts and elevated finishes give every menu a polished look, while flexible formats make it easy for the hotel team to update and print in-house. This ensures menus stay fresh, relevant, and seamlessly integrated into both daily service and special event programming.

Weekly Activities Board

To help guests easily explore everything the resort has to offer, we designed an elegant Activities Board that highlights daily programming throughout the week. Organized by day and styled to reflect the refined Ritz-Carlton aesthetic, the board balances clarity with sophistication. Integrated QR codes make it simple for guests to access more details, reserve spots, or learn about special events, ensuring that resort experiences are both visible and effortless to enjoy.

Interactive Media Booklet Experience

We designed a premium digital media booklet that housed a sleek video tablet within custom packaging, like a gift box that elevates each guest’s experience. While we didn’t produce the video content itself, our team crafted the tactile and visual design of the booklet to deliver a seamless unboxing moment. The result is an elegant package that merges physical design with digital storytelling, reinforcing the resort’s luxury brand and delighting guests through immersive, hands-on interaction.
