In the spirit of the Holiday season, we decided to end our Wishlist with a donation. For every Retweet this  twitter post gets between now and midnight on Christmas day we’re donating $1 to Clean The World .

Homewood Suites by Hilton plans on adding a 134-room hotel near SeaWorld Orlando. According to reporter Richard Bilbao of the Orlando Business Journal, the hotel will sit on a 3.5-acre of land at the intersection of Central Florida Parkway and Westwood Boulevard. The land was purchased for $2.11 million by an undisclosed buyer.

This is a developing story, so we don’t know much else. Check back later for further details.

And don’t forget—our friends Clean the World’s corporate headquarters is also based in Orlando. Maybe another partnership will be in the works! Want to know if your hotel is partnered with Clean the World? Check out their list here.

The team at McConnell Marketing had the opportunity to participate in the ONE Project—a project started by Clean the World Foundation, Inc., that provides hygiene products to people in the community who are struggling to meet their family’s basic needs.

Clean the World, whose home is in Orlando, shipped all of the products required for each individual hygiene kit to the McConnell Marketing office in Canfield, Ohio. Each team member was then assigned to a station to assemble hygiene kits for the Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley and Hurricane Sandy victims.

image-4Assembling the hygiene kits gave the team a chance to bond. Team member Matthew Sprankle said, “It was a heartwarming moment to work with my co-workers on working towards such a rewarding cause.”

Katie Williams took the lead role in the development of the project within the office said, “I think Clean the World is awesome. Taking a product, that would have been thrown away, and recycling it for the greater good truly warms my heart.”

By providing soap to those that need it most, Clean the World helps prevent the spread of disease and saves lives.

Clean the World donated 600 bars of soap to a Mentor Leader’s mission team at Tabernacle Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Austintown, Ohio, where our own Katie Hively attends.

Take a look at the Mentor Leaders packing the soap to take on their trip!

The mission of the trip was on hygiene, and after an 18-hour bus ride, the team delivered the soap to Gbenchal, a small village in Togo, West Africa.

Many thanks to McConnell Marketing for making the connection, Clean the World for the soap and Brown Horse Garments for covering the shipping costs.
