The Start of Sheraton’s Makeover

Not too long ago, Marriott International, Inc. unveiled an entirely new look for its 82-year-old Sheraton brand. Think: updated logo, tweaked color palette and refreshed content layouts. And just this week, we’re beginning to see the start of Sheraton’s major makeover with the very first outdoor logo going up.

Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner

Just this week, Portland Sheraton at Sable Oaks snagged bragging rights for being the first property in the world (yep, the entire globe) to display the new Sheraton logo. But, that’s not all. If you don’t recognize this property’s name, you’re not the only one– until this week, Portland Sheraton at Sable Oaks was actually the Portland Marriott at Sable Oaks. As part of this huge brand transformation, the property will now become part of the Sheraton portfolio, donning the new logo front and center. Other properties gearing up for outdoor signage include Sheraton Buganvilias Resort & Convention Center, Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel & Towers and Sheraton Shanghai Fengxian.

Remind Me, What’s Different?

Great question. Below is a brief overview of the new logo. In addition to the logo, Marriott also released new color schemes, patterns and layouts for virtually everything branded.

Sounds Like A Lot to Change

No kidding. Take a quick second and think of all the things in your hotel (or business) that’s branded. A website, social media, digital brochure– all pretty easy to change. But, what about outdoor signage, meeting planner guides, menus, in-room marketing materials, sales collateral, etc. etc.? Definitely a lot to update, print and coordinate.
