BENEFITING SECOND HARVEST
HUNGER ACTION MONTH
Please join the movement to end and bring awareness to hunger during 
September and on September 29. We invite everyone to wear orange, hold a 
food drive, or bring attention to this very important cause.
CANFIELD FAIR
Stop by the WFMJ tent during the 180th annual Canfield Fair September 2-7 and 
help us fight hunger! We’ll be collecting donations all week long. 
TACOS AND TUNES
Join us November 5 at 5:30pm at the B&O Station for an exciting new event, 
Tacos And Tunes, a Dueling Pianos Experience promising an unforgettable 
evening filled with delicious food, incredible live entertainment from Piano 
Maniacs, and plenty of fun for all who attend. Tickets are $50 each or $375 for a

Remembering 
Carl Nunziato
A LIFETIME OF SERVICE
Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley remembers Carl Nunziato, 
a longtime member of our Board of Directors and a tireless advocate for 
people in need. For more than 25 years, Carl shared his time, wisdom, 
connections, and compassion with Second Harvest, leaving a lasting legacy 
within our organization and throughout the Mahoning Valley.
Carl’s commitment to helping others began during his service in Vietnam, 
where an encounter with a hungry mother and child stayed with him throughout 
his life. That experience helped shape his lifelong belief that helping people 
was a true purpose in life.
Carl carried that belief into everything he did. As an attorney and advocate, he 
worked to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. As a Second 
Harvest board member, he provided guidance, legal 
counsel, ideas, and support that helped the Food 
Bank reach more people facing hunger. He was also 
instrumental in bringing a food pantry to the Carl 
Nunziato VA Clinic, helping ensure veterans have 
access to food assistance.
Carl often said, “I find working and helping people is the greatest reward 
there is.” His life was a testament to those words.
We are grateful for Carl’s more than 25 years of 
service, 
his 
friendship, 
and 
his 
unwavering 
commitment to helping others. His legacy will live on 
in the countless lives he touched and the difference 
he made in our community.
