OUR MISSION
Second Harvest Food Bank of the  Mahoning 
Valley’s mission is to solicit, store, and 
distribute food to hunger-relief organizations 
feeding people in Columbiana, Mahoning, 
and Trumbull counties; and to provide 
education and advocacy.
OUR VISION
Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning 
Valley believes that no one should go hungry 
and is dedicated to building a community 
that makes food accessible to all people.
Mike also guided Second Harvest through some of the most challenging moments in recent history. 
During the COVID-19 pandemic, he helped coordinate large-scale response efforts, including support 
from the National Guard. He also ensured the food bank was prepared to respond during emergencies 
such as the East Palestine train derailment and other crises, always prioritizing the well-being of the 
community.
In recognition of his extraordinary impact, the food bank’s facility was recently renamed the Mike Iberis 
Distribution Center, a lasting tribute to his leadership and legacy. He was also honored with a special 
proclamation from local representatives in Columbus.
While Mike will be stepping away from his role as Executive Director, his connection to Second Harvest 
will continue as he transitions to serve on the Board of Directors.
As we look ahead, one thing remains certain: the mission Mike dedicated his career to will continue to 
guide everything we do. His legacy will be felt in every meal distributed, every partnership strengthened, 
and every life impacted across the Mahoning Valley.
